Director of Transportation Operations

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development and implementation of contemporary fleet lifecycle management programs, utilising your knowledge to develop and implement fleet strategy and policy.

As a Director of Transportation Operations, you will make a genuine difference in the community in a workplace that values everyone's unique skills and attributes. You will be responsible for meeting the organisation's operational transport needs by partnering with service areas to enhance their offerings through best practice and innovative transport logistics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic leadership and implementation of contemporary fleet lifecycle management programs encompassing asset planning, procurement, maintenance, and disposal.
  • Managing a team to deliver high-quality lifecycle programs and providing specialist advice to optimise fleet operations.
  • Developing and implementing fleet strategy and policy, maintaining professional relationships, preparing technical reports, and staying informed of industry developments and legislative changes.

To succeed in this role, you will require a strong leadership style supported by proven experience in managing teams within an operational service delivery environment. A solid background in developing forward replacement programs, project and contract management, project scoping, and reporting is also essential.

Advanced technical knowledge in fleet management, related trades, works programming, and asset maintenance strategies is required, along with strong presentation skills and extensive experience engaging with industry groups and key stakeholders.

Excellent communication abilities are necessary, along with a demonstrated capacity to influence, motivate, and develop staff, contractors, and suppliers. Proficiency in using and administering fleet management software is also a key requirement.
