About the RoleThis is a high-impact position at the heart of Australia's aviation industry, requiring a combination of physical and mental skills to respond to emergency situations.
As an Aviation Rescue Fire Fighter, you will be stationed at one of our 27 airport fire stations, where you will be responsible for responding to aircraft incidents, maintaining equipment and facilities, and providing first aid and fire safety advice.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Responding to aircraft emergencies, such as fires or medical evacuations
- Maintaining trucks and other equipment to ensure they are in good working order
- Providing first aid and fire safety advice to passengers and crew
You will also have the opportunity to learn new skills and advance your career through ongoing training and education.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following requirements:
- Be an Australian/New Zealand citizen or hold a valid permanent resident visa
- Have completed Senior Secondary Certificate of Education (Year 10/12)
- Hold a current, unrestricted driver's license (with the ability to obtain a heavy rigid license)
- Hold a current Provide First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011 or HTLAID014) at time of commencement on Recruit Course
- Meet physical and mental fitness standards, including passing a beep test with a score of 9.1 and aviation medical assessment
