TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR - Hamilton Island

Live and work in paradise Hamilton Island is seeking an experienced and safety-focused Treatment Plant Operator to join our Engineering & Services Division. This is a hands-on, full-time role maintaining critical infrastructure on one of Australia's most iconic island destinations.

As a Treatment Plant Operator on beautiful Hamilton Island, you will play a vital role in maintaining the high-quality water supply for Hamilton Island. This full-time position joins our Engineering & Services Division and is responsible for the day-to-day operation and monitoring of three Water and Sewerage Treatment Plants to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards.

• Operate and maintain the plant equipment, including pumps, filters, and disinfection systems
• Monitor water quality and treatment processes, adjusting as needed to meet required standards
• Perform routine inspections, testing, and maintenance on all plant equipment
• Maintain accurate records and logs of plant operations, water quality data, and maintenance activities
• Respond to and troubleshoot any issues or malfunctions that arise in the water treatment plant
• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and guidelines
• Assist with the training and supervision of junior team members, as required

To be successful, you'll need:

• Certificate III in Water Operations or equivalent technical qualification (Essential)
• Demonstrated experience in water and/or sewerage treatment plant operations
• Strong understanding of water quality testing, treatment processes, and plant control systems
• Manual driver's licence (Essential)
• White Construction Card (Essential)
• Current First Aid and CPR certification (Essential)
• Eligibility for an Aviation Security Identification Card (Essential)
• Tetanus and Hepatitis A & B vaccinations (Recommended)
