Heavy Plant Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Plant Engineer to support the foundations and bridge construction operations. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable use of plant and equipment.

  • Plan, mobilise, and coordinate heavy plant and equipment for piling, foundations, and bridge construction projects.
  • Monitor utilisation, performance, and implement preventative maintenance programs to ensure optimal results.
  • Provide technical advice on plant selection, capabilities, and safe operating procedures to colleagues and site teams.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns and provide technical support for repairs, modifications, and upgrades.
  • Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and logistics teams to manage plant operations effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, servicing, compliance, and utilisation to inform decision making.
  • Support lift studies, equipment planning, and WHS, environmental, and quality compliance initiatives.
  • Assist with procurement, supplier engagement, and forecasting plant requirements to align with construction programs.
About You
  • You have 2-3 years' experience in plant engineering, civil, or infrastructure projects.
  • You hold a relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • You possess a strong understanding of heavy plant and equipment used in foundations and bridge construction.
  • You can interpret engineering drawings, plant specifications, and maintenance schedules.
  • You are a practical problem-solver with strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • You have excellent communication skills and can engage and build rapport with colleagues, subcontractors, and site teams.
  • You are flexible and proactive, with a willingness to work across both site and office environments.
  • You have a strong safety-first mindset with knowledge of WHS standards and safe work practices.
