The Extended Possessions Manager role involves overseeing the strategic planning and coordination of extended track possessions across multiple work packages within Cross River Rail. This encompasses collaborating with delivery contractors and key stakeholders to ensure that possession staging is logical, operationally feasible, and aligned with project priorities.

Responsibilities
  • Chair multi-agency working groups to develop and endorse possession applications, as well as monitor readiness.
  • Support contractors in obtaining extended possessions, including justification of track access.
  • Apply governance frameworks to facilitate informed and transparent decision-making.
  • Coordinate state agencies to optimize possessions during low-demand periods.
  • Monitor risks and changes in construction schedules and develop contingency planning.
  • Prepare feasibility assessments, options analyses, and readiness assurance documentation.
  • Present structured information to the Delivery Sequencing Steering Committee.
  • Report progress and escalate risks to the Senior Possessions and Delivery Sequencing Manager.
About You
  • A background in possession planning and/or works sequencing in a complex public transport environment.
  • Skill in identifying risks and developing mitigation and contingency strategies.
  • Strong program management skills to coordinate delivery activities under tight timelines.
  • Effective communicator with strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • A proven ability to lead teams and foster professional growth.
  • Skill in chairing and presenting at multi-agency meetings to support collaboration and decision-making.
