Our client, a leading fund management asset owner based in Melbourne, seeks an experienced Business Analyst to join their firm for an initial 12-month contract. As a key member of the Performance and Analytics team, you will be responsible for providing business and technical analysis, research, and information collation capabilities.

The ideal candidate will have strong data analysis experience, specifically in analysing large datasets within an asset management environment. You will work closely with the broader P&A team, including the Investment Data Management team, to ensure requirements and solutions are effectively analysed, documented, and tested to meet business needs.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work collaboratively with the Manager, P&A, and the broader P&A team to deliver precise performance measurement and insightful analysis, driving investment decision-making and enhancing our investment outcomes.

You will be responsible for:

  • Drawing on domain expertise in investment performance measurement and ex-post reporting and analytics in performance analysis;
  • Executing the creation of test strategy and ensuring the test plan is aligned to the overall test strategy and regular monitoring;
  • Collaborating with the team and internal/external service providers to understand complex requirements and define business and testing activities;

Your key tasks will include:

  • Collaboration and Strategy Development;
  • Investment Performance Intelligence and Analytics;
  • Managing Complexity and Ensuring Quality Assurance;
  • Building Meaningful Relationships with Internal and External Stakeholders;
  • Data Enhancement and Analysis.

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Extensive experience in funds management performance & analytics across all investment sectors, coupled with data analysis and business analysis/project experience;
  • Tertiary qualification in finance, economics, business, IT-related, or quantitative disciplines;
  • Experience extracting data from Excel, Microsoft Access, SQL Database, Python, and other tools;
  • In-depth knowledge of the software delivery lifecycle, including test planning, user acceptance testing, and quality assurance in agile and continuous delivery environments;
  • Proven ability to work proactively as part of a team, completing assigned tasks and issues to completion.

We offer a competitive salary package, commensurate with experience, in the range of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, plus superannuation and annual leave entitlements.
