About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Database Specialist to join our Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) Startup team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and executing go-to-market strategies for AWS Database solutions in the Startup APJ region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical thought leadership to customer accounts, interacting with CxO/VP levels, developers, and technical architects to ease adoption, develop pipeline, secure lighthouse customers, drive top-line revenue, and explore strategic partnerships.
  • Develop and deploy programs that leverage AWS Field teams, technology, and consulting partner channels to drive business growth.
  • Collaborate with AWS Product and Technical teams to create solutions that solve customer problems, including reference architectures, patterns, automation, and release plans.
  • Own the GTM strategy and execution for AWS Database in Startup APJ, working closely with teams in the field, including Sales, Partners, Marketing, and other Specialists.

The WWSO team helps customers adopt our new and most advantageous technologies. We are technology specialists dedicated to helping Startups scale quickly and cost-effectively on AWS.

This position is part of the WWSO Startup team, where you will be a Technical Business Developer that helps Startups adopt AWS' technologies with a focus on Amazon's Database solutions.

Requirements
  • 7+ years of relevant GTM, Sales, or Consulting experience.
  • 5+ years of technology domain experience in database management systems, including relational databases, NoSQL databases, and data warehouse solutions.
  • Bachelor's Degree Required.
  • Startup background and experience at a VC or PE-backed firm in a Product, BD, or Sales Executive capacity.
  • Familiarity with open-source software used by Startups and working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies.
  • Established track record of building rapport with Startup executives and closing strategic deals.
  • Strong data-based storytelling skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with Startup executives and developers.
  • Recognized industry expertise in primary discipline(s) with proven public speaking prowess.
  • Cloud expertise as demonstrated by one or more cloud certifications.
  • An advanced degree highly preferred, especially an MBA or MS in CS or Engineering.
