Vehicle Technician

We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Mechanic to undertake routine maintenance and repairs on a wide range of heavy military vehicles, including 4WDs, trucks, tracked and armoured vehicles, infantry personnel carriers and even armoured tanks.

As a Vehicle Mechanic, you will conduct technical inspections, classification, repair or replace worn or faulty parts by removing assemblies such as engines, transmissions and differentials, reassemble, test, clean and adjust repaired or replaced parts, carry out minor body repairs and minor trim repairs, test and repair electrical systems such as lighting, ignition and electronic fuel injection, inspect vehicles and issue road worthiness certificates.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including technical inspection and classification
  • Repair or replace worn or faulty parts
  • Reassemble, test, clean and adjust repaired or replaced parts
  • Carry out minor body repairs and minor trim repairs
  • Test and repair electrical systems
  • Inspect vehicles and issue road worthiness certificates
Qualifications:
  • Cert III Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or equivalent level
  • Open to Light Vehicle Mechanics with demonstrated Heavy vehicle experience
  • Demonstrated experience to inspect, repair and maintain Light, Medium and Heavy vehicles
  • Must possess a current Australian State or Territory class C Driver's License
  • You must be an Australian Citizen and able to maintain a Defence Security Clearance
