Role Description

We are seeking an Economist to join our Economics team at the Australian Energy Market Commission. The AEMC is an independent rule maker and advisor for the National Electricity Market, natural gas market and related retail markets.

The successful candidate will apply microeconomics and econometrics to real-world energy policy, promoting the long-term interests of energy consumers and supporting a transition to a net zero energy sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Applying microeconomics and econometrics to real-world energy policy issues
  • Developing and implementing policy recommendations to promote energy consumer interests
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to advance the AEMC's objectives

Required Skills and Qualifications:
