About the Role
As a Youth Worker at yourtown, you will play a vital role in supporting young people to overcome challenges and achieve their goals. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team that is dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of young people and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate individual strengths and connect young people with specialized support services.
- Craft and deliver engaging group activities and workshops to enhance vocational and non-vocational skills, life skills, and work readiness in young people.
- Work in collaboration with the young person to set goals to address non-vocational barriers.
- Design personalized case plans that not only set clear goals but also ignite enthusiasm, closely tracking and celebrating progress and achievements.
- Collaborate in case conferences with the job placement coach to ensure a coordinated approach.
- Champion innovation, challenge the norm, and tirelessly advocate for the well-being and success of young individuals.
- Actively engage with the local community and gain support for referrals for our young people.
Requirements
- A minimum of two years of experience in a similar role, along with a Certificate IV in Youth Work or a related discipline; alternatively, possess a minimum of four years of experience in youth work (or a similar role).
- Showcase your practical experience in youth work by proficiently case managing our young people engaged in Transition to Work. Illustrate your expertise in crafting strategies that empower disadvantaged youth to overcome challenges in employment.
- Be confident in delivering engaging and inspiring workshops through your demonstrated experience in facilitating training sessions to young people.
- Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with a talent for networking, will enable you to cultivate relationships among diverse stakeholders, encompassing client cohorts, government entities, community organizations, and business groups.
- Proficient skills in using technology and systems; our compliance requirements are high, and your administration needs to be on par with this.
- Unrestricted Australian Driver's License.

Transition to Work (TtW) is the Australian Government's youth specialist employment service that supports young people to develop practical skills to gain employment or connect with education or training.
