We are seeking a qualified professional to fill a Carer Peer Worker position. This unique role involves drawing from your personal experiences to provide support and guidance to families, carers, and supporters of individuals with mental health challenges.

The Job Overview:

As a Carer Peer Worker, you will collaborate closely with our clinical team to enhance the recovery process for consumers experiencing serious suicidal ideation. You will also work in conjunction with family members or other carers to provide emotional support and facilitate their involvement in the consumer's care plan.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have personal experience caring for a family member or someone with mental health challenges. A formal qualification such as a Certificate IV in Peer Work or equivalent is also required, or a willingness to complete this within 12 months. Additionally, you should have experience working in a peer support role and facilitating family/carer support groups.

Key Requirements:

• Personal lived experience of caring for a family member or someone with mental health challenges
• Formal qualifications such as Certificate IV in Peer Work or equivalent, or a willingness to complete this within 12 months
• Experience working in a peer support role
• Experience facilitating family/carer support groups
• Australian working rights and current influenza vaccination
• Willingness to complete a police check
