About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Tourism Research Director to lead our research engagements in the tourism industry. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service and providing data-driven insights to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and lead research engagements, including brand research, segmentations, trend and market analysis
  • Undertake business development and manage an opportunity pipeline, including developing business plans to retain current clients and attract new ones
  • Lead account and customer relationships and develop strong partnerships with clients and stakeholders
  • Oversee research data to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver research projects and drive business growth
  • Lead a team and provide coaching and mentoring to other team members

About You:

  • Tertiary qualification in business, management, social sciences, statistics, marketing and/or psychology, postgraduate qualification is beneficial
  • A proven track record in market research, delivering successful client outcomes and achieving business objectives, ideally with experience within the tourism industry
  • Commercially minded, an innovative thinker and hands-on
  • Client-centric, with a positive and collaborative attitude, and a passion for leading and working as part of a team
  • Exceptional relationship building and stakeholder engagement skills to build new business and partner with existing clients
  • Skilled market researcher with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Able to interrogate and understand market/industry trends and drivers
  • Able to read and understand data and use data and information to provide meaningful insights to clients and external stakeholders
