Senior Blast Engineer

Aurecon is seeking a highly skilled Senior Blast Engineer to join our Built Environment team in Sydney. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on blast design and analysis, ensuring the safety and resilience of our clients' infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide physical security and protective design consulting services for new and existing buildings, including blast design, site layout, and progressive collapse.
- Prepare blast threat mitigation strategy reports in conjunction with security advisors and based on threat-dependent blast assessment and measures to reduce risk to life safety.
- Perform calculations to determine blast-loading environments and nonlinear, dynamic analysis of building structures and façade systems using finite element analysis software.
- Provide recommendations to reduce or eliminate the probability of structural collapse, including blast protection of critical elements to the desired level of protection.
- Interface with and present to internal and external clients, providing subject matter expertise on blast design analysis.
- A university degree qualification in civil or structural engineering.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant blast engineering-related experience.
- Chartered status would be preferable.
