About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Officer to join our team at Hilton Worldwide, Inc. as a Financial Reporting Specialist. This role will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of timely and accurate financial reporting, as well as providing support to the Finance Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in overseeing the operations of the finance department, ensuring all procedures and documentation are in order.
  • Understand and maintain the mechanisms behind the computerized information network, particularly related to data gathering for accounting and bookkeeping purposes.
  • Assist the Finance Manager in analyzing financial data, preparing costing templates, and forecasting spreadsheets.
  • Relieve and/or assist the Finance Manager when they are on leave or require assistance.
  • Maintain an up-to-date and complete register of all hotel contracts, insurance policies, and licenses, ensuring proper filing of original documents.
  • Ensure contract expenditure is correctly accounted for in the books.
  • Support the Finance Manager in ensuring all payments submitted by Payable are matched to purchase orders, receiving records, and eventually to invoices.
  • Ensure all invoices are authorized by Department Heads and processed through DMx.
  • Review and communicate updates on expense reports to Department Heads.
  • Oversee the cost control and inventory function within the hotel, ensuring best practice policies are implemented.
  • Assist in the day-to-day operations of the finance department and actively support team members.
  • Ensure the CAPEX and FF&E additions and disposal process is adhered to.
  • Assist with information collation for submission of tax reporting, including FBT and corporate tax.
  • Assist the Finance Manager in all internal and external audit-related matters for both properties.
  • Income Audit supervision, ensuring revenue recording functions adhere strictly to Hilton Worldwide and Hotel policies and procedures.
  • Review all payments for authorization by the Finance Manager and General Manager, with all supporting documents required.
  • Assist with hotel-level Balance Sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis.
  • Coordinate with Department Heads for end-of-month pack and assist in pulling reports from finance systems WD3 and WD10.
  • Be flexible in relation to shifts and available to work all shifts as required, including weekends that coincide with month/year-end reporting deadlines.
  • Participate in month-end stock takes.
  • Perform General Cashiering duties as required.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties assigned by the Finance Manager from time to time.
Requirements
  • University preferred Commerce degree in Accounting and Management.
  • At least 3 years of working experience as a General Ledger Supervisor or higher in the hospitality industry.
  • Solid working experience in hotel accounting with a minimum of 3 years in a managerial operational accounting role.
  • Good relationship with the local bank and government agencies.
  • Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local accounting laws and tax laws.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Flexible with working hours, especially at the end of the month.
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English to meet business needs.
