Are you a passionate researcher and educator looking to make a meaningful impact in experimental condensed matter physics? We are seeking a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer to join our School of Science, where you will combine research and teaching to advance the field.

Job Description

This role involves teaching and conducting research in experimental condensed matter physics, with opportunities to contribute to curriculum design and course delivery. You will work closely with students and colleagues to build a vibrant research portfolio and publish high-quality work.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for applying for grants, supervising students, and participating in the administration and collegial life of the School.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • PhD in experimental condensed matter physics or a related discipline
  • Expertise in cryogenic techniques and low-temperature measurements
  • Demonstrated track record in experimental condensed matter physics research
  • Ability to support and inspire students
  • Experience in teaching and learning design across undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels
  • Experience with educational technologies and online delivery
  • Experience in curriculum development and improvement
  • Experience recruiting and supervising high-calibre students
  • Ability to interact with profession and industry and attract funding for learning and teaching initiatives
