Job Summary:
The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of IT solutions and services with a primary focus on infrastructure projects. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of IT infrastructure and project management methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a project team, working with the business and key stakeholders, and managing third-party vendors to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet/exceed agreed business requirements.
- Capture, manage, and report project risks and issues to all relevant project stakeholders through regular project communication.
- Ensure functional and technical specifications and documentation are appropriate and sufficient to deliver the project, adhering to minimum technical guidelines such as ITIL, and translating business requirements into technical specifications.
- Perform thorough analysis and engagement with the business and other key stakeholders at different levels in the organization to ensure that optimum solution designs capture all business requirements.
- Engage appropriate stakeholders, such as key business users or professional testers.
- Provide regular progress reports and organize team meetings to ensure project finance is appropriately managed and constantly reviewed.
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Experience in end-to-end roll-out of complex IT network and server solutions in a diverse business environment across multiple locations.
- Extensive knowledge in network (WAN and LAN), server, storage, backup, firewall, designs, and technology, including management and monitoring tools.
- Experience in cloud services is ideal.
- Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.
- Ability to think laterally and work both independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent relationship management, business acumen, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrate leadership skills and experience working with a small to medium-sized team.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certification is preferred.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in project management, with a focus on IT infrastructure or similar IT projects.
- Strong understanding of network and storage solutions.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Trello).
- Experience in change management and driving user adoption of new systems.
- Strong experience in end-to-end system implementation, including data migration, testing, training, reporting, and integration.
- Experience in community-based or non-profit industry is a preference.
