About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Specialist Family Violence Refuge Practitioner to provide case management support to victim-survivors who have engaged in supported accommodation services through refuge and transitional housing, and also provide an outreach family violence case management response to victim-survivors in the community.

This is a permanent, full-time position based in Victoria, and the successful candidate will be reporting to the Team Leader. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award Level 5.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide case management support to victim-survivors, including ongoing assessment of their risk and needs from initial intake to exit.
  • Provide local family violence response to victim-survivors in the community referred by external agencies or self-referrals.
  • Assist victim-survivors to access holistic support services and establish community connections, and where needed, advocate with service providers.
  • Liaise with service providers and identify opportunities for networking and collaborative practice.
Requirements
  • A current Victoria Working with Children Check.
  • A current Victoria Driver Licence.
  • A tertiary qualification in Social Work / Social Sciences or related fields (essential).
  • Experience working in the family violence sector (desirable).
  • Experience in specialist family violence and/or child well-being work (desirable).
  • Demonstrated experience and skills in intake, case management, and crisis responses.
  • Highly developed time management and work prioritisation skills with an ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision required.
