About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accounts Payable Officer to join our finance team at Southern Cross Care Queensland. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional financial services to our stakeholders through accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices and payments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process invoices, reimbursements, and petty cash reconciliations in a prompt and accurate manner
  • Process periodic payments via EFT, BPAY, Direct Debits, and Cheques, including Fuel Card, Fleet Management & IT direct debits
  • Process client refunds, RAD's, and Exit payments
  • Manage the Accounts Payable and AP Invoices mailboxes
  • Review and reconcile supplier statements to support timely payment of accounts
  • Ensure the integrity of all data processed and assure proper approval of expenditure in line with SCCQ's delegation of authority (DOA)
  • Liaise with suppliers and work with the Procurement team to set up new suppliers, make changes to existing suppliers' data, and maintain appropriate records
  • Cash Forecasting: Prepare weekly cash forecasts for AP payments
  • Credit Card Processing
  • Creating and managing Spend Plans in Basware, including reviewing and resolving any failed Spend Plan invoices
  • Assist SCCQ staff and suppliers with enquiries
  • Provide backup and support to AP Officers during periods of leave or illness
Requirements
  • Experience in high-volume, large ERP systems within shared services models with tight deliverables
  • Excellent transactional knowledge of full function AP processes, procedures, and systems
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting concepts and GST
  • Experience with high-level general ledger coding
  • Computerised accounting systems experience (SAP, Basware, Epicor)
  • Ability to adapt to new processes and pick up new systems quickly
  • Strong Excel skills for reconciling accounts, invoice allocations, etc
  • Strong focus on customer service
  • Excellent communication skills when dealing with both internal and external customers
  • Positive attitude towards working well with team members
  • Willingness to contribute to ongoing process improvement
  • Ability to think outside the box and be able to problem-solve ad-hoc problems
