The General Handyperson will be responsible for maintaining College facilities in good order, ensuring they are safe and ready for use. This role requires a commitment to providing a high level of service and work quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain College facilities through regular maintenance programs
  • Collaborate with colleagues on handyperson tasks requiring teamwork
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests
  • Remove graffiti, clean spills, and clean up after accidents or damage
  • Perform minor grounds and equipment repairs
  • Assist with carpentry, plumbing, concreting, and fencing as needed
  • Line mark and set out sportsgrounds, as well as maintain grounds equipment such as goal posts and cricket nets
  • Furniture maintenance and spot cleaning
  • Maintain and clean courts
  • Rubbish and recycling collection – including emptying bins, cleaning, sanitation, and maintenance
  • Clear blocked drains, including some adjacent to the property and minor toilet blockages
  • Open and close College grounds (gates and chains)
  • Moving furniture and equipment
  • Maintenance of lockers
  • Setup and cleanup for special functions/events
  • Follow all WHS policies and procedures of the College
  • Maintain College database records on facilities
  • Any other maintenance and cleaning as directed

This is a casual position with variable hours and days of work.

We estimate the salary for this position to be approximately $60,000-$80,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
