About The Role

This is a dynamic opportunity to provide non-judgmental, recovery-oriented support to individuals in distress. You will draw on your lived experience of suicide crisis or mental health challenges, together with the strength gained through your recovery journey.

Key responsibilities include providing calm, compassionate support in times of crisis, helping individuals feel safe, respected, and supported while navigating moments of distress or uncertainty.

You will collaborate within a team that values kindness, empathy, and peer-led perspectives. This role requires ongoing learning and growth through regular supervision, training, and professional development.

To be successful in this position, you should possess personal, lived experience of a suicidal crisis or significant mental health challenge, and have developed insight, resilience, and a strong sense of purpose through your recovery.

You are passionate about using your lived experience to support others, offering genuine hope, empathy, and connection to individuals in distress. You believe in the power of peer work and understand the value of meeting people where they are, with compassion, dignity, and respect.

Your qualifications include holding an Intentional Peer Support (IPS) certification and/or Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work (Consumer), or commitment to completing these within 18 months of starting the role.
