Our Family Violence Stream

We provide a wide range of services around the country to support women and women with children impacted by family and domestic violence. Our services include refuge, children's and parenting support, counseling, support, men's programs, accommodation, and advice.

About The Role

We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Specialist Family Violence Outreach Practitioner to provide community outreach case management support to women, families, and children who have experienced and/or are currently experiencing family violence. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in delivering high-quality, safe, and effective family violence and child well-being responses to those seeking support, safety, and recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work under the general direction of the Team Leaders and the Program Manager, adhering to established work practices while exercising initiative and judgment where practices and direction are not clearly defined.
  • Maintain effective relationships with clients that encourage self-determination and participation.
  • Deliver highly effective and appropriate case management to address individual needs and circumstances in accordance with our Family Violence Model of Care and Case Management model which meet the standards of best practice.
  • Conduct ongoing risk assessment and safety planning for clients using agreed tools.
  • Develop individual case plans in collaboration with clients that include a range of interventions that address the needs or goals of clients.
  • Regularly monitor and review the progress and outcomes of individual case plans and take action to ensure the plan continues to meet client needs or goals.
  • Assist clients in accessing support services and establishing community supports, and advocate with service providers as needed.
Requirements
  • A tertiary qualification in Social Work or a related field.
  • Experience working in the family violence sector is desirable.
  • Experience in specialist family violence is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated case management experience and skills.
  • Highly developed time management and work prioritization skills with the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Advanced computer skills including experience in data and record management.
  • Well-developed liaison and communication skills, including the ability to work alongside relevant agencies and clients.
  • A C Class Driver's License.
  • Possess current Apply First Aid qualification (preferred but not essential).
