About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Platforms Engineer to join our eTrading team at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our electronic trading platform, ION.

As a Senior Platforms Engineer, you will work closely with our trading business to understand their requirements and develop solutions that meet their needs. You will be responsible for leading and mentoring junior staff, driving process improvements, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain our electronic trading platform, ION
  • Work closely with our trading business to understand their requirements and develop solutions that meet their needs
  • Lead and mentor junior staff to ensure their success and the success of the team
  • Drive process improvements that add significant business value
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies to ensure our platform remains competitive
Requirements
  • Strong experience in front-office trading systems, including ION MarketView or Anvil
  • Confidently conceiving and driving process improvements that add significant business value
  • Ability to lead and mentor junior staff to ensure their success and the success of the team
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of various D2C and D2D bond, IRS, and repo markets and their operation
  • Ability to work closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand business requirements and collaboratively ideate solutions
