Job Title: Senior Platforms Engineer

The Senior Platforms Engineer is a key member of our IT & Transformation team, responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and reliable platform infrastructure to support HCF's digital operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement scalable and reliable platform infrastructure to support HCF's digital operations.
  • Optimize system performance and ensure high availability and reliability for both on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
  • Implement and manage security measures to protect data and systems that align to HCF Cyber standards.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Provide technical advice and expertise to empower the HCF engineering & delivery teams to focus on innovation.
  • Monitor system performance and ensure regular maintenance and updates occur.
  • Develop and manage backup and disaster recovery plans.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
Requirements:
  • 5-7 years of experience in system administration or platform engineering roles, with proven experience in managing and leading technical projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent industry certification and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of virtualization, storage, networking, and cloud services.
  • Strong knowledge of server operating systems, configuration, patching, SOE builds, and application deployment.
  • Proficiency in automation tools and scripting languages (e.g. Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell).
  • In-depth understanding of security protocols and best practices.
  • Demonstrated understanding of foundation services (e.g. DNS, DHCP, NTP, and certificates).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
