Commercial Finance Manager - Editorial Business

As a key partner to our newsrooms, you will play a vital role in ensuring financial discipline and supporting the creation of Australia's best journalism.

  1. Act as a strategic finance partner to editorial leaders, providing clear, actionable financial insights to inform business decisions.
  2. Manage and control the entire Editorial cost base, with a focus on staff and content-related expenses.
  3. Lead budgeting and forecasting processes for all editorial cost centers, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  4. Provide insightful analysis on financial performance, identifying key trends, risks, and opportunities for cost savings and growth.
About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to use your financial expertise to drive business outcomes and support the success of our editorial team.

  • Proven experience in finance or commercial accounting, with a degree and/or a CA/CPA qualification.
  • Business partnering skills, including the ability to build trust and translate financial concepts for non-finance teams.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with confidence to liaise with senior stakeholders.
  • Expertise in core financial processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and month-end reporting.
