Cybersecurity Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Officer to join our team at the Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in implementing the ACSC Essential 8, including patching applications, operating systems, and application control, as well as restricting Microsoft Office macros and regular backups.

Key Responsibilities- Implement the ACSC Essential 8 to ensure the security of our systems and data
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive cybersecurity framework to protect against cyber threats
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate security risks
- Provide expert advice and guidance on cybersecurity best practices
- Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity trends and technologies
- Tertiary or vocational education qualification in Cyber Security, ICT, Information Management, or experience to a similar level
- Specialist knowledge and expertise in cybersecurity frameworks, including ACSC's Essential 8 and ISM, ISO 27001, NIST CSF
- Security clearance of Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) or the ability to obtain one
- A competitive salary range of $64,821.00 to $92,764.00 pro rata, per annum
