About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Officer to join our team at the Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania (NRE Tas). As a key member of our ICT team, you will play a critical role in implementing and maintaining our cybersecurity framework, ensuring the protection of our systems and data from cyber threats.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain the ACSC Essential 8 framework to ensure the security of our systems and data.
  • Develop and maintain security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential security threats.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure the integration of security into all aspects of our business.
  • Provide training and awareness programs to ensure all staff are equipped to handle security-related issues.

Requirements

  • A tertiary or vocational education qualification in Cyber Security, ICT, Information Management, or a related field.
  • Specialist knowledge and expertise in cybersecurity frameworks, including the ACSC Essential 8.
  • A security clearance of Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) or the ability to obtain one.
  • Current driver's licence.
