Occupational Health and Safety Professional

The Position

This is a vital role that involves leading the health and safety management program across our operations. The primary objective will be to protect employee well-being and ensure compliance with relevant laws, codes of practice, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strengthen health and safety management systems by regularly reviewing key health and safety measures to implement approaches that enhance safety outcomes throughout the organization.
  • Ensure employee welfare and business risk by conducting risk assessments in relation to health & safety issues, recommending and implementing solutions and approaches that mitigate risk.
  • Collaborate closely with other Health & Safety professionals from all sites in developing policies, procedures, and new guidelines.
  • Eliminate or control safety risks to employees by partnering closely with line managers and supervisors to identify, assess, eliminate, and/or control safety risks across the business.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**

This role requires:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety together with a minimum experience of 4 to 5 years in the Food/Manufacturing industries.
  • Sound knowledge of hazard identification, risk assessment, and risk control principles relating to plant, equipment, processes, property, environment, and other risk exposures in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
