Job Title: Child Safe Senior Project Officer
About the RoleThis role is part of a collaborative effort to implement child safe practices in Aboriginal Community-Controlled settings. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders, including WACOSS and government departments, to ensure effective implementation.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to promote child safety initiatives.
- Design and deliver training programs for Aboriginal organisations on child safe principles.
- Support the development of resources tailored to the needs of Aboriginal communities.
- Represent the organisation in strategic forums and advocate for culturally responsive approaches to child safety.
To excel in this role, you will need:
- A deep understanding of National Principles for Child Safe Organisations and their application in Aboriginal contexts.
- Experience working with Aboriginal organisations and leaders to deliver culturally responsive programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in report writing, policy submissions, and project documentation.
- Ability to facilitate complex discussions and negotiations with diverse stakeholders.
- Relevant tertiary qualification and/or professional experience in social services, child protection, community development, or a related field.
