Pacific Aviation Sector Expert

The air transport sector in the Pacific region is seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to provide advisory support services.
This role will focus on strengthening the aviation sector, improving safety outcomes, and enhancing cooperation among actors in the region.
- Provide expert advice to stakeholders in the Pacific aviation sector
- Collaborate with relevant Ministries, regulators, airport authorities, and airlines across the region
- Support capacity building initiatives for partner countries
- Foster close working relationships with key partners, including DFAT and regional organizations
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience (at least 10 years) in one or more of the following areas:
- Aviation policy development and implementation
- Airport management and operations
- Airline operations and management
- Civil aviation regulatory expertise, particularly in the Pacific aviation sector
The selected candidate will be contracted on an agreed daily rate, with variable input levels directed in response to program needs. Experience working collaboratively in a development partner context, knowledge of the Pacific aviation sector, and excellent communication skills are highly desirable.
Requirements- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent industry operational experience
- Minimum of 10 years of significant working experience in one or more of the above-mentioned areas
- Experience working in Pacific Island countries or similar operating environments
