Belmont Christian College seeks a dedicated Secondary Learning Support Teacher to join our Student Learning Support team.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in creating an inclusive environment that enhances individualised student learning, engagement, and wellbeing in accordance with students' needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Learning Support team, secondary teachers, students, and parents to develop targeted interventions.
  • Support teachers in curriculum development for diverse learning needs.
  • Advise teachers on managing behavior of students with disabilities or special needs.
  • Maintain documentation related to student progress and NCCD requirements.

Detailed Job Description:

The Secondary Learning Support Teacher supports the Learning Support team and liaises with secondary teachers to meet individualised learning needs, engagement, and wellbeing, fostering an inclusive environment for diverse students.

Responsibilities include:

  • Adhere to all College policies and procedures.
  • Safeguard and promote student welfare.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development.

Key Accountabilities:

Christian Leadership:

  • Model a Christ-like example in all activities.
  • Exercise servant leadership with staff, students, parents, and the community.

Student Learning Support:

  • Develop and implement learning interventions tailored to individual student needs.
  • Provide emotional and social support to students.
  • Monitor and report on student progress.

Classroom and Curriculum Guidance:

  • Support teachers in planning and developing curriculum for diverse learning needs.

Administrative and Other Duties:

  • Maintain accurate records related to student progress and NCCD requirements.
  • Contribute to data collection and moderation activities.
