Job Title

Job Description

As a Hospital Infection Prevention Coordinator, you will be responsible for leading the implementation of the hospital's infection prevention and control program. This includes:

  • Ensuring compliance with National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) standards;
  • Providing education and training to staff on infection prevention and control practices;
  • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the program;
  • Developing and implementing policies and procedures related to infection prevention and control;
  • Collaborating with other departments to promote a culture of safety and quality within the hospital.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in infection prevention and control or a related field;
  • At least 5 years' experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in an infection prevention and control role;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to analyze and review qualitative and quantitative data;
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, Australian standards, and international trends in best practice.
