The role of an advanced healthcare practitioner involves delivering high-quality patient care through the development and application of clinical skills.

Patient advocacy is a key aspect of this role, with a focus on facilitating their rights and providing education where necessary.

Effective communication and teamwork are essential in this position, with a commitment to ongoing education and professional development.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Maintained and developed clinical skills to care for patients appropriately
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality patient care using available resources effectively
  • Adhered to hospital policies, procedures, and standards
  • Acted as a patient advocate and facilitated their rights
  • Provided patient education and acted as a resource where necessary
  • Participated in a multidisciplinary team approach to patient care through the continuum of care in recovery
  • Prioritized workload using available resources effectively

You will hold registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse. A minimum of 2 years' previous theatre/recovery experience in a hospital environment and postgraduate qualification will be highly regarded.
