Job Summary:

Public Sector People is seeking an experienced Environmental Sustainability Manager to lead and manage the Sustainability Programs Unit. The successful candidate will have significant experience across Environmental and Sustainability Programs with the ability to communicate across all levels of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Sustainability Programs Unit to deliver work against the Environmental Strategy and Sustainable project focus.
  • Collaborate with community, government, and industry to meet environmental targets, in particular net zero by 2025.
  • Oversee partnership transitions, stakeholder management, business planning, reporting, and procurement.
  • Represent the city at a senior level in various meetings, events, forums to further advocacy goals.

Key Challenges:

  • Managing key relationships with large and diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Managing, negotiating, and influencing outcomes with diverse and complex stakeholders.
  • Providing timely expert advice related to environmental outcomes to the Director, Executives, and Councillors.
