About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our high-performing Sustainability Team at the City of Canada Bay. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in delivering projects and programs that promote environmental sustainability and climate resilience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement environmental projects and programs that align with our Environmental Strategy, Emissions Reduction Action Plan, Litter Strategy, and Climate Resilience Framework.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve corporate environmental sustainability and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Deliver community environmental programs to engage residents and promote environmental awareness.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to Council teams on environmental management and sustainability initiatives.
  • Conduct data analysis, manage databases, and prepare reports to inform environmental management decisions.
Requirements
  • 2 years of practical experience in environmental sustainability, natural resource management, or a related field.
  • Tertiary qualifications in environment, engineering, engagement, or sustainability fields.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours, including evenings and weekends, to engage with the community.
