Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the City Environment Department to ensure the effective management and best practice delivery of environmental policy, strategy, and plan, catchment management, environmental waste management, and specialist technical advice on environmental matters.
  • Develop and implement environmental policy and strategy to ensure the ongoing provision of optimum environmental outcomes.
  • Manage and coordinate the City Environment Department's activities, including catchment management, asbestos and construction waste management, and specialist technical advice on environmental matters.
  • Provide specialist technical advice on environmental matters to support the City Environment Department's activities.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation of environmental policy and strategy.

Requirements:

  • Relevant degree qualifications and extensive practical experience in the areas of environment sustainability, biodiversity, climate change, and catchment management.
  • High-level skills and experience in leading and managing a diverse team in the delivery of specialist professional programs and initiatives, with proven results achieved.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in the management of asbestos-related matters, including construction and demolition waste.
