About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer/Tech Lead to join our team at Perpetual Digital, a leading innovation company in the banking and finance industry. As a Senior Engineer/Tech Lead, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust database systems that support our company's data needs.

Your mission will be to ensure data integrity, performance, and security while working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver efficient, scalable, and high-performance backend solutions. You will be responsible for optimizing database queries, managing data structures, and supporting data-driven applications to drive business success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement scalable and efficient data processing systems and architectures that meet our organization's needs.
  • Build and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines to efficiently collect, transform, and load data from various sources into data storage and analytics platforms.
  • Ensure seamless integration of data from different sources and systems, ensuring data quality, consistency, and reliability.
  • Develop and implement data transformation and modelling techniques to optimize data for analysis and reporting.
  • Develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions to support various business processes and reporting needs.
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in data processing and storage systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Lead a team of engineers, providing technical guidance, mentoring, and fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Evaluate new technologies, frameworks, and tools in the data engineering space to drive innovation and improve data processing capabilities.
  • Implement monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve issues in data pipelines and systems.
About You
  • You have a tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent industry experience.
  • You have 5+ years of Database Development experience supporting mission-critical relational databases.
  • You have strong experience in SQL query tuning, server optimization, and management.
  • You have experience with Database design and capable of creating SQL objects such as SQL functions.
  • You have hands-on experience with full Microsoft database stack (SSDB, SSAS, SSIS, SSRS, ADF, Power BI, etc.).
  • You have experience building and managing database-focused environments in Microsoft Azure cloud.
  • You have experience with CICD and Azure DevOps: Build Pipelines, Release Pipelines, and deployments generally.
  • You have a proficient understanding of Git and code management tools.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to document complex technical problems.
