We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Reliability Engineer to join our team at International Netherlands Group. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the resilience and reliability of our customer-facing systems with a focus on databases.
The successful candidate will work closely with our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams to drive SRE initiatives, act as product owners, and be hands-on with development activities. You will collaborate with a large set of stakeholders to improve the experience on specific key journeys that are bank-wide, impacting our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement complex engineering solutions to enable problem solutions or design briefs.
- Recommend technical developments to improve quality of workloads and supporting infrastructure.
- Analyse and identify areas for modification and improvement in existing and new workloads.
- Evaluate the potential impact of emerging issues within an area of technology or business function.
- Communicate the actions needed to implement the function's strategy and business plan within the team.
- 10+ years of experience with databases, mandatory Microsoft SQL and ideally Postgres.
- Experience with automation, capacity management, and performance management practices in the context of database systems.
- Experience with database migration strategies and migrating complex database solutions to the public cloud.
- Ideal knowledge of Event Driven Architectures leveraging Kafka Event Bus and Debezium / CDC.
- Proven track record of curiosity, problem solving, adaptability, and excellent communication skills.
