Job Title: Research Associate
DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Research Associate. The successful candidate will work within the Population Child Health research group, School of Clinical Medicine, UNSW, supporting research services and developing novel research.
The role involves providing statistical and epidemiological support for intervention-based studies and grant applications. Key responsibilities include conducting research activities, such as surveys, literature reviews, data collection and recording results using appropriate research methods under the guidance of a research leader.
The position is responsible for disseminating research outcomes through suitable channels, including presenting at conferences and/or workshops. The role reports directly to the Head of the Population Child Health research group and has no direct reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide statistical and epidemiological support for intervention-based studies and grant applications.
- Conduct research activities, including surveys, literature reviews, data collection and recording results.
- Disseminate research outcomes through suitable channels, including presenting at conferences and/or workshops.
Requirements
- A PhD in Epidemiology/Statistics or related discipline, and/or an appropriate level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training and/or professional accreditation.
- Competency in a range of statistical software, preferably R, SAS and/or Stata, and previous experience working with large sets of data.
- Experience working in the design and evaluation of trials would be beneficial.
