Investment Portfolio Specialist

This role is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and recommending the selection of external investment managers for fixed income portfolios. The successful candidate will lead the day-to-day management of external managers within the portfolio group to achieve broader objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ">
  • Investment Recommendations: Making external manager recommendations, including long and short lists, preliminary analysis, pre-investment due diligence, appointment, monitoring, relationship management, oversight, and termination;">
  • External Managers Oversight: Partnering with internal operational due-diligence, operations, portfolio compliance, and legal teams through the manager on-boarding process and ongoing oversight and control;">
  • Portfolio Construction: Supporting management of exposures across the fixed income options and sectors, including assisting with portfolio construction, risk modelling, and performance measurement;">
  • Portfolio Management: Supporting implementation of portfolio design and strategy recommendations and contributing to the daily management of fixed income investment portfolios, ensuring alignment with investment objectives and risk parameters;">

Requirements:

  • ">
  • Extensive experience working within investments, funds management, and/or superannuation in a manager selection capacity or fixed income portfolio management role;">
  • Superior understanding of drivers of returns of various fixed income strategies and instruments and how they can be blended to build portfolios;">
  • Experience in portfolio construction of fixed income investments, including consideration for factors, styles, investment models, risk, and allocations;">
  • Experience in fixed income portfolio management across physical and derivatives;">
  • Proven self-starter who demonstrates initiative and confidence;">
  • Strong organisation skills with an ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines;">
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;">
  • Willingness to learn and contribute to team initiatives and activities, including contributing to team discussions on investment issues;">
