Operations Manager

JD Ross Energy is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Operations Manager to join our team in Canberra. As an Operations Manager, you will play a critical role in the safe and efficient monitoring and control of multiple renewable energy assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Asset Managers to ensure the safe operation of assets at all times.
- Monitor and control assets via SCADA systems, reacting to plant and market notifications and alerts.
- Coordinate with transmission network service providers and the Australian Energy Market Operator regarding asset outages, generation constraints, or specific production/network conditions.
- Handle emergency calls from asset personnel or other stakeholders.
- Liaise with operations and maintenance contractors to maximize asset availability.
- Participate in training programs provided by our in-house team and industry-leading consultants to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Electrical, or a related field.
- Experience in electricity generation and the electricity market.
- Proficiency in Excel, data analysis, and communication of results.
- Reliability, organization, and a team-focused approach.
- Ability to work in a 24/7/365 shift-based environment.
- Capacity to work under intense operational pressure and maintain concentration levels for extended periods.
- Self-regulation to maintain a healthy work-life balance while delivering business needs.
- Fluent English language skills (written and spoken).
- Previous experience in nightshift work is highly regarded.
