Job Title: Office Manager
Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and efficient Office Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in specialist medical rooms, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and be computer literate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meet and greet patients on arrival
- Schedule patient appointments
- Rostering and monitoring sessional orthoptists
- History set up - notifying of referral and appointment reminders
- Follow-up test results
- Arranging surgical theatre lists including hospital consents, forms and instructing patients
- Liaising with private/public hospitals, anaesthetists and various medical organisations
- Invoicing and receipting payments, following up on outstanding accounts
- Knowledge of Medicare and various health fund rebates/policies
- Health fund and Medicare claiming
- Medical audio typing
- Use of Somersoft with the prospect of updating to new software
- Operating EFTPOS
- Banking duties
- General cleaning duties as required
Essential Criteria:
- Previous experience within specialist medical rooms
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Computer literate (currently changing software and updating practice to become paperless)
- Well-presented, friendly, courteous and accommodating
- Represent the practice in a confident and positive manner
- Maintain absolute confidentiality regarding patient and practice information
- Ability to work cooperatively and independently
