As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading our efforts in environmental and social performance, community development planning, and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities
  • BUILD STRONG RELATIONSHIPS WITH COMMUNITY STAKEHOLDERS AND ENSURE EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION AND ENGAGEMENT STRATEGIES ARE IN PLACE.
  • EVALUATE AND MANAGE SOCIAL IMPACTS AND RISKS, DEVELOPING EFFECTIVE MITIGATION ACTIONS TO PROTECT OUR COMMUNITY PARTNERS.
  • IMPLEMENT THE STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT PLAN, ENSURING TRANSPARENCY, ACCOUNTABILITY, AND RESPONSIVENESS TO COMMUNITY NEEDS.
  • LEAD THE EXECUTION OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS, OVERSEEING EDUCATIONAL INITIATIVES, HEALTHCARE SERVICES, LIVELIHOOD DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS, INFRASTRUCTURE SUPPORT, AND SKILLS TRAINING.
  • CONDUCT SOCIO-ECONOMIC SURVEYS, WORKING CLOSELY WITH LOCAL COMMUNITIES AND NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS (NGOS) TO INFORM COMMUNITY INVESTMENT PRIORITIES.
  • ENSURE THAT COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES ARE INCLUSIVE, GENDER-SENSITIVE, AND CULTURALLY APPROPRIATE, FOSTERING A POSITIVE IMPACT ON THE COMMUNITY.
  • MONITOR AND EVALUATE THE EFFECTIVENESS AND IMPACT OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS, REPORTING OUTCOMES TO SENIOR MANAGEMENT AND STAKEHOLDERS.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A MASTER'S OR BACHELOR'S DEGREE IN ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE, SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT, NATURAL RESOURCE MANAGEMENT, OR A RELATED FIELD.
  • MINIMUM 10 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL PERFORMANCE IN LARGE-SCALE INFRASTRUCTURE OR EXTRACTIVES (MINING, OIL & GAS, ENERGY).
  • PROVEN EXPERIENCE IN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PLANNING AND IMPLEMENTATION IN REMOTE OR RURAL SETTINGS.
  • FAMILIARITY WITH COMPLEX REGULATORY SETTINGS AND INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS SUCH AS THE IFC PERFORMANCE STANDARDS.
  • EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH COMPLEX TRIBAL COMMUNITIES.
