Key Role in Student Systems Management

The University of Tasmania is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead its Student Systems team.

This leadership role is responsible for driving outcomes across the suite of budgetary, reporting, and strategic requirements for the Student Systems team.

  • Lead a team of professional staff delivering frontline student systems support.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, including support processes, incident and issue tracking, workload monitoring, escalation, and resolution.

Key Responsibilities

Include:

  • Leading Systems Support teams, including staff engagement, performance, and career development, portfolio capacity, and resource allocation.
  • Strategy tracking and delivery, with expectations to present divisional-level reporting on projects and performance, contributing to institutional-level reporting.
  • Development, implementation, and maintenance of user support resources.
  • Managing complex projects relating to continuous improvement activities, infrastructure improvement, identified functional issues, and new system implementations.
  • User access management to student systems, ensuring suitable users are given access in adherence to privacy and risk controls settings.

Requirements

  • A degree or postgraduate qualification from a recognised higher education institution with relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience, education, and/or training.
  • Strong technology platform fluency with a deep understanding of contemporary IT protocols and operating environments.
  • High-level oral and written communication skills, including engaging internal staff and interpreting and communicating systems matters to a broader audience.
  • Experience leading a team, developing people and team cultures to create a highly engaged and skilled workforce delivering outcomes in complex or demanding systems environments.
