Malt Analysis Specialist Job Description

As a Malt Analysis Specialist, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely analytical results to support business stakeholders and customers. This role involves working closely with the Laboratory Supervisor to ensure that all laboratory procedures are conducted in accordance with Boortmalt Standard Methods.

  • Prepare and analyze raw material and finished product malt samples using wet chemistry techniques;
  • Participate in laboratory proficiency testing schemes to ensure accuracy and reliability of analytical results;
  • Calibrate and maintain analytical instrumentation and their accessories to ensure optimal performance;
  • Highlight anomalies in results and investigate sample type/behavior as needed;
  • Manage reporting, record keeping, and investigations of non-conformances to ensure compliance with Boortmalt Good Laboratory Practices;
  • Ensure compliance with Boortmalt EHS requirements and required training.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed as a Malt Analysis Specialist, you will need:

  • A Master's degree in agriculture, food science, chemistry or related discipline;
  • Analytical and detailed skills to ensure accurate results;
  • Ability to respond quickly to and resolve issues in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with various levels of the organization;
  • Good time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines;
  • High level of computer literacy to manage laboratory software and systems;
  • Adaptability and capacity for change to stay up-to-date with new technologies and processes.
