
Rural Healthcare Specialist

The health service operates a seven day emergency and inpatient service 24 hours a day and has outpatient visiting services Monday-Friday. The service is a 15 bed facility with 4 emergency department beds. The service provides healthcare to an area of approximately 4000km2 within the region.
The organisation provides a range of services including emergency, medical, post-operative, interim care, transitional care, palliative care, physiotherapy and rural adult community health.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver excellence in nursing care and patient outcomes as a competent clinician who provides nursing care with clinical competence and capability optimising access to care services.
- Work in partnership with the multidisciplinary team to provide person and family centred quality safe patient care.
- Provide contemporary evidence-based nursing services demonstrating competence in the provision of nursing care as specified by achievement of the standards of practice and registration requirements from the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).
- Demonstrate contemporary clinical knowledge in the area of rural nursing delivering competent nursing care in complex situations while providing support to other team members.
- Ability to provide patient and family centred care to the patient using best practice and within the standard of practice of a Registered Nurse.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and contribution to quality improvement processes.
Requirements: To be successful in this role you will need to possess strong communication skills have experience in rural nursing and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
