Leading with Lived Experience

At our organization, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Team Leader to join our team. As a Team Leader, you will have the opportunity to utilize your lived expertise to promote an inclusive, affirming and destigmatising culture that values lived experience and the active inclusion of service users, carers, and families in the work we do.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Utilise your lived expertise to develop and implement strategies to promote the value of lived experience across quality, values and service outcomes.
  • Work in collaboration with the team to deliver services that meet the needs of people, as defined in the Locals Service Model.
  • Support the development of staff to think deeply, develop creative solutions and remain motivated in meeting people's needs and preferences.
  • Provide practice supervision/line management to staff who are providing direct support to service users.

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • Completion of Intentional Peer Support Core and/or Advanced training is required.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Mental Health, Peer Work, Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) or other health related field are desirable but not required.
  • Experience as a peer worker or holding a designated lived experience role is essential.
