Job Overview

The Tax Compliance Specialist role offers a unique opportunity to gain extensive experience in indirect tax and advance your career within a large, complex company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with GST compliance for the group and various joint venture investments.
  • Prepare FBT returns and maintain processes ensuring compliance with legislation.
  • Maintain accounting and tax records to support monitoring and evaluating business.
  • Reconcile BAS payments and refunds for Franchisor Reports of franchised complexes.
  • Maintain and register Australian Business Numbers for all members of the group.
  • Provide ad-hoc indirect tax advice on new business initiatives, system upgrades, and transactions.
  • Report and reconcile PAYG accounts, analyse payroll reports, and perform monthly payroll tax calculations and annual reconciliations.
  • Ensure Indirect Tax policies and procedures align with Tax Framework.
  • Liaise with ATO and State Revenue reviews related to GST and payroll taxes.
  • Stay informed on current indirect tax related news and legislative changes.
Requirements
  • CPA or CA qualified with experience in relevant financial accounting.
  • Strong communication skills - written and verbal.
  • Experience in taxation, preferably indirect tax.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Strong job ownership and self-motivation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA ERP system preferred.
