Job Title: Underground Geological Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Underground Geological Specialist to join our team at a prestigious gold mine in Western Australia.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Grade Control and Ore Production: Deliver accurate grade control, ore definition, and material tracking processes to meet monthly production targets.
  • Geological Coordination: Collaborate with the geology and mining teams to ensure timely execution of the mine plan and optimize resource allocation.
  • Production Management: Manage and report daily, weekly, and monthly production activities, reviewing against scheduled performance and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Underground Mapping and Training: Undertake and oversee underground mapping of development drives, training, and mentoring graduate geologists and underground technicians.
  • QAQC and Database Management: Implement industry best practices in drill program design, QAQC, database management, reconciliations, and material tracking.
Requirements:
  • A relevant tertiary degree in Geology or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Mine Geology and comfortable working in underground environments.
  • A strong sense of safety and adherence to company protocols.
  • Clear and concise communication and written skills.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the mining cycle and ability to analyze data.
  • Proficiency in 3D software packages, preferably Vulcan, Leapfrog, or Deswik.
  • Experience in QAQC practices and ability to implement best practices.
