Gruyere , commenced in 2019 is a world-class open pit operation located in the remote Yamarna Belt of Western Australia.
Consisting of a large-scale, low-cost gold mine, future satellite operations and impressive exploration potential it is a key asset in our Australian portfolio.
It's a joint venture between Gold Fields and Gold Road Resources, producing over 300,000 ounces of gold annually.
Gruyere boasts an impressive mine life, which is set to grow following significant investment in exploration expenditure on the existing deposit and surrounding tenure.

Reporting to the Manager: Geology, you'll lead people and processes to ensure optimal gold ore production, support ongoing resource development, and embed a culture of continuous improvement and safety.
Your key responsibilities will include: Leading and mentoring a team of geologists and contractors to deliver on daily plans while meeting operational and safety targets Driving team performance by providing accurate, predictive geological models to maximise recovery and minimise dilution Overseeing and enhancing grade control reconciliation processes (daily to annual) Championing near-mine and in-mine exploration programs to support Life of Mine extension and resource growth – both RC and Diamond drilling Ensuring the integrity and reliability of geological mapping, modelling, and reporting systems Applying strategic insight and technical expertise to reduce geological risk and improve model confidence Fostering a culture of safety, innovation, and excellence in geological operations About You You'll also bring: Proven leadership capability with experience motivating high-performing geology teams A degree in Geology or a related discipline Strong background in open pit gold mining, with expertise in mine geology, grade control, resource estimation, and extensional exploration Proficiency in Microsoft Office and geological software (e.g., Datamine, Leapfrog) A passion for safety, continuous improvement, and building a performance-driven culture At Gold Fields, we expect all employees to embody and enhance our values, safety culture, and performance, aligning with our purpose of creating enduring value beyond mining.
