About the Role

We are seeking a skilled professional to fill this position as a computational expert. In the Translational Diagnostics laboratory, you will provide high-level genomics analysis.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and validate numerous pipelines for identifying microbial pathogens from large datasets.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, providing support and training in next-generation sequencing and genomics data analysis.
  • Manage and maintain large genomic data sets.
  • Analyse, prepare and coordinate data for reports and communicate results to stakeholders.
About You
  • You hold a Bachelor of Science or equivalent, and/or PhD in computer science, bioinformatics or a related field.
  • You possess strong communication skills and can work effectively in a team environment.
  • You have excellent organisational skills and version control practices.
  • You have effective time management and leadership skills.

This is a full-time opportunity with the possibility of part-time arrangements. The fixed-term 12-month position will support our efforts as a computational specialist, providing rapid diagnostic pathology and genome sequencing services for various pathogens.
